Whats your health? Add too many sup runes and you can die instantly like that when rezzing. Dieing in 1 hit from a mantid is really odd though.

Maybe 5 sup runes with non-max health and a vamp weapon?

Tell us the armour you are using (IE armour rating), and the runes/insignias in your armour and your weapon stats.

Yep - sounds like all Sup runes (probably also insignia of the same type - they don't always stack) and a 'nice' vampiric weapon to me too.

If you're going to run a Ranger - most you will need is two major runes for skills at a time then runes of attunement, vitae or vigor on the remaining. Of the two skills runes - one should be expertise (thats where you get your energy from) in your chest armour or leggings, the 'proper' skill rune goes in your mask - more often marksmanship.

The mask (if you chose wisely!) will also boost that runes effect and so you can have a spare mask and rune in your belt pouch to swap to Wilderness Expertise or Beast mastery as things dictate.

Also - check the req's on the weapon - can you get to the level it asks for its damage to activate, otherwise you may as well just wave a stick!

if you have eye you can get a perfect salvage kit and remove the runes without losing either the runes or the armor---you can always put them on a different set of armor later (or give the ranger runes to your ranger hero when you get one)....
so yeah take a look at your health---if its under 100 you need to think about not using runes and maybe some insignias (like survivor---) until you get farther along.

Keep the armour...get a max collectors set and chop and change the armour pieces with the sup runes depending on what build you're running. That way you'll look great when you're in an outpost, but can have your sup runes when fighting. I.e. Sup Marksmanship helm, but collectors rest, or sup 'whatever else' on feet and collector rest.... Variants thereeof. That way you keep your armour and your runes, and don't have to spend any money on anything new.
